. Stock X has a beta of 0.5 and Stock Y has a beta of 1.5. Which of the following statements must be true, according to the CAPM

? a. If you invest $50,000 in Stock X and $50,000 in Stock Y, your 2-stock portfolio would have a beta significantly lower than 1.0, provided the returns on the two stocks are not perfectly correlated. b. Stock Y's realized return during the coming year will be higher than Stock X's return. c. If the expected rate of inflation increases but the market risk premium is unchanged, the required returns on the two stocks should increase by the same amount. d. Stock Y's return has a higher standard deviation than Stock X. e. If the market risk premium declines, but the risk-free rate is unchanged, Stock X will have a larger decline in its required return than will Stock Y.

Answer:

c. If the expected rate of inflation increases but the market risk premium is unchanged, the required returns on the two stocks should increase by the same amount

This statement is correct because an increase in inflation is a risk which will be reflected by an increase in the risk free rate. Also increase Beta is that sensitivity of the stocks to the market risk premium, and having different betas does not affect the the increase in expected rate of return caused by inflation.

Explanation:

a. If you invest $50,000 in Stock X and $50,000 in Stock Y, your 2-stock portfolio would have a beta significantly lower than 1.0, provided the returns on the two stocks are not perfectly correlated

This statement is wrong because if you invest 50,000 in stock X and 50, 000 in stock B you will have a beta of 1

50,000/100,000=0.5

(0.5*1.5)+(0.5*0.5)=0.75+0.25=1

b. Stock Y's realized return during the coming year will be higher than Stock X's return

This statement is wrong because although stock y's expected return will be higher because it has a higher beta, realized returns cannot be decided beforehand and will have to wait and see how the market reacts

d. Stock Y's return has a higher standard deviation than Stock X.

This statement is wrong because we do not have any information about any of the stocks standard deviation and knowing the betas is not enough to find the standard deviation.

If the market risk premium declines, but the risk-free rate is unchanged, Stock X will have a larger decline in its required return than will Stock Y.

This statement is wrong because stock y has a bigger beta than stock x which means that when the risk premium declines stock y will have a larger decline.

How did trickle-down economics claim to increase government tax revenues?
chubhunter [2.5K]
How did trickle-down economics claim to increase government tax revenues? By lowering tax rates. Lower tax rates helps the people by giving them a tax break that the wouldn't otherwise get. Paying taxes becomes expensive and it helps those when taxes decrease because they are able to keep more of their income and afford more than they would be able to otherwise.

The proceeds of a 10,000 death benefit are left on deposit with an insurance company for seven years at an annual effective inte
11111nata11111 [884]

Answer: $135

Explanation:

First find the future value of the proceeds.

= 10,000 * (1 + 5%)⁷

= $14,071

The monthly payments are equal so X is an annuity and as the payment is made immediately, this is an Annuity due.

Convert the interest rate into monthly figure:

= 3%/12

= 0.25%

Present value of annuity = Annuity * (( 1 - (1 + r)^-n ) / r) * (1 + r)

14,071 = Annuity * ((1 - (1 + 0.25%) ⁻¹²⁰) / 0.25%) * (1 + 0.25%)

14,071 = Annuity * 103.82

Annuity = 14,071 / 103.82

= $135.53

= $135

What is it about incentive systems that makes them so attractive to leaders attempting to implement organizational change
sveticcg [70]

Answer:

Incentive systems are so attractive to leaders who attempt to implement organizational change because they are powerful tools that can influence and motivate workers to embrace organizational change.

Explanation:

Incentive systems promote and encourage specific workers' actions or behavior. They are particularly used in businesses to motivate employees to adopt certain behaviors during a change transition by management. Studies have shown that if correct incentive systems are correctly selected, implemented, and monitored, they can increase team performance by an average of 44 percent. This improved performance makes incentive systems attractive to leaders who are implementing organizational changes.
