Answer:

-1078

Step-by-step explanation:

Notice that each new term of 2, -18, -38 is found by subtracting 20 from the previous term.

Note that a(2) = first term - 20, or

                a(2) =        2       -20(2-1), or

                a(3) =        2       -20(3-1)   =    2 -20(2) = 2 - 40 = -38 (this is right)

So the nth term is a(n) = 2 - 20(n-1)

and the 55th term is a(55) = 2 - 20(55-1) = 2 - 20(54) = -1078

The 55th term is -1078.

"9 less than a number is
zero."
I need help
zysi [14]

Answer:

9

Step-by-step explanation:

Less means minus, so basically X ( something ) - 9 is 0

X - 9 = 0

You add 9 on each side

X = 0 + 9

X = 9

Basically, all you're doing is the reverse, you start with 0 and do the opposite of taking away 9 which is adding nine so that you get the number:

0 + 9 = 9

Hence the number is 9

:)

( sorry if I misunderstood )

Help me please this is pre algebra
netineya [11]
Ok first one when you are dealing with two step equations you need to cancel out the -6 so add 6 to both side so now you have 28 and divide that by 4 because you need to cancel out the 4

4x-6=22
+6=+6
4x=28
4x/4=28/4
X=7
