nswer:

In modern politics and history, a parliament is a legislative body of government. Generally, a modern parliament has three functions: representing the electorate, making laws, and overseeing the government via hearings and inquiries. The term is similar to the idea of a senate,or congress, and is commonly used in countries that are current or former monarchies, a form of government with a monarch as the head. Some contexts restrict the use of the word parliament to parliamentary systems, although it is also used to describe the legislature in some presidential systems (e.g. the Parliament of Burundi), even where it is not in the official name.

Historically, parliaments included various kinds of deliberative, consultative, and judicial assemblies, e.g. medieval parliamentsThe English term is derived from Anglo-Norman and dates to the 14th century, coming from t11th century Old French parlement, from parler, meaning "to talk".[2] The meaning evolved over time, originally referring to any discussion, conversation, or negotiation through various kinds of deliberative or judicial groups, often summoned by a monarch. By the 15th century, in Britain, it had come to specifically mean the legislature.[3]

What was one important factor that helped pass the 26th amendment in 1971 which lowered the voting age to 18
neonofarm [45]
The Vietnam War. It was a long debate over lowering the voting age from 21 to 18, which began during World War II and only intensified during the Vietnam War when young men who were practically being heavily obligated and sometimes forced/drafted to fight for their country were being denied the right to vote. “Old enough to fight, old enough to vote” became a common slogan for a youth voting rights movement, and in 1943 Georgia<span> became the first state to lower its voting age in state and local elections from 21 to 18.

5. Describe the principle of government by the people, including its use in ancient
tatiyna

Answer:

The principal of government by the people means that citizens have a say in their government. Greece and Rome were the first civilizations to use these ideas about governments. This kept their governments stable for a long time. The Greek city-state of Athens created a direct democracy, which allowed citizens to vote directly on laws. The Roman Republic used a representative democracy where citizens elected leaders to represent their ideas and interests.

The principal of government by the people influenced the United States government. The United States became a Democratic government after the American Revolution. Democratic governments operate according to the idea that matters of the country are "public" and not just the concerns of its rulers.
