"When William Lee reached Goll's drugstore, he was gasping for air and frantic. In a breathless voice, Lee demanded the key to t

he alarm box that was mounted on the outside of the store. Bruno Goll refused to hand it over, insisting that a fire truck had already passed." "Lee had no time to argue with Goll. He was too concerned about the safety of his family, so he hurried back to them almost immediately. He got there just in time to see the fire taking hold of his neighbor's shed and fence, while the breeze blew a rain fire on his property. Two things were very clear to Lee: first, despite what Goll had said, no fire engines had arrived, and, second, his house was about to catch fire." What was the effect of Goll's refusal to hand over the key to the alarm box?

Please help, I beg!!!

What Supreme Court case established “separate but equal” in 1896?
Alona [7]

Answer:

Plessy v. Freguson

Explaination:

In 1896, the Supreme court ruled that it was lawful to segregate public areas as long as there was "equal" places for people of both races. This case arose after an African American man refused to move the "white car" on a Louisianan train. However, this ruling only allowed for inequality to continue in America. It was uncommon for segregated areas to truly be equal. One example of this was schools. Many whitw schools would be well funded while colored schools lacked many necessities such as books and other matertials.
