After a surgical procedure where an incision. is made, your body deploys platelets, Leukocytes, and neutrophils as part of the hemostasis process of vascular repair. Ater hernia surgery, the presence of hard bloating most likely means that there is a collection of these fluids (Seroma) or blood (hematoma) underneath your incision. Post opertive bloating is normal. This bloating can be decreased by applying an ice pack to the area for the first 48 hours. Never apply direct ice. Always wrap the pack so there is a barrier
