Look at the picture.

Therefore we have the equation:

10y - 29 = 7y + 19       <em>add 29 to both sides</em>

10y = 7y + 48          <em>subtract 7y from both sides</em>

3y = 48      <em>divide both sides by 3</em>

y = 16

3x + 7 = 5x - 21            <em>subtract 7 from both sides</em>

3x = 5x = -28         <em>subtract 5x from both sides</em>

-2x = -28     <em>divide both sides by (-2)</em>

x = 14

➷ When you add fractions, you have to have the same denominator whereas, when you multiply them, you don't have to. (In this case the denominators are already the same.) Also, multiplying the fractions would make the result smaller whereas adding them would make it larger.

Evaluate the triple integral. 5x dv, where e is bounded by the paraboloid x = 7y2 + 7z2 and the plane x = 7. e
Mrac [35]

Convert to cylindrical coordinates:

x=x

y=r\cos\theta

z=r\sin\theta

Then E is the set of points (r,\theta,x) such that 0\le r\le1, 0\le\theta\le2\pi, and 7y^2+7z^2\le x\le7 or 7r^2\le x\le7.

Now

\displaystyle\iiint_E5x\,\mathrm dV=5\int_0^{2\pi}\int_0^1\int_{7r^2}^7xr\,\mathrm dx\,\mathrm dr\,\mathrm d\theta=\boxed{\frac{245\pi}3}

Kylie explained that (–4x + 9)2 will result in a difference of squares because (–4x + 9)2 = (–4x)2 + (9)2 = 16x2 + 81. Which sta
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

The expression (-4x + 9)^2 cannot be equal to (-4x)^2 + 9^2 because it is actually equal to the product of two factors (3 + 2sqrt x) (3- 2 sqrt x). One cannot use obviously distributive property. Hence the answer to this problem should be C. as she did not understand both perfect square trinomial and did not determine the product

A log is 20 m long, correct to the nearest metre.
Marat540 [252]

Answer:

222 fence posts

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the log is 20 m long, correct to the nearest metre and has to be cut into fence posts which must be 90 cm long, correct  to the nearest 10 centimetres, there can be x fence posts 90 cm long.

So, we have x × 90 cm = 20 m

x × 0.9 m = 20 m

x = 20 m/0.9 m

x = 222.22

x ≅ 222 fence posts

So, the largest number of fence posts that can possibly be cut from the log is 222 fence posts.
