Answer:

Missing term is 225/4

Step-by-step explanation:

x^2+15x+18=0

First move +18 to the other side. Subtract 18 on both sides

x^2+15x=-18

In completing the square method we take the half of coefficient of x  and then square it

coefficient of x  is 15

Half of 15 is \frac{15}{2}

Square it  (\frac{15}{2})^2

\frac{225}{4}

Missing term is 225/4 that is required to form a square trinomial

Add it on both sides

x^2+15x+\frac{225}{4}=-18+\frac{225}{4}

x^2+15x+\frac{225}{4}=\frac{-18*4}{1*4}+\frac{225}{4}

x^2+15x+\frac{225}{4}=\frac{-72}{4}+\frac{225}{4}

x^2+15x+\frac{225}{4}=\frac{153}{4}

Now we write left hand side in square form

(x+\frac{15}{2})^2=\frac{153}{4}

Now we solve for x

Take square root on both sides

(x+\frac{15}{2})^2=\sqrt{\frac{153}{4}}

(x+\frac{15}{2})=+-\frac{3\sqrt{17}}{2}

Subtract 15/2 on both sides

x=+-\frac{3\sqrt{17}}{2}-\frac{15}{2}

Can someone please help me with 44. And 45?
Angelina_Jolie [31]

Problem 44

The term "bisect" means "cut in half".

Since BD bisects angle ABC, this means the smaller angles ABD and DBC are congruent.

angle ABD = angle DBC

x+15 = 4x-45

15+45 = 4x-x

60 = 3x

3x = 60

x = 60/3

x = 20

<h3>Answer:  x = 20</h3>

========================================================

Problem 45

We use the same idea as the previous problem

angle ABD = angle DBC

2x+35 = 5x-22

35+22 = 5x-2x

57 = 3x

3x = 57

x = 57/3

x = 19

<h3>Answer: x = 19</h3>

Solve for w. -22w-5)+5w-5(w+4) Simplify your answer as much as possible.
Anna [14]

Answer: −22w−25

Step-by-step explanation: Distribute:

=−22w+−5+5w+(−5)(w)+(−5)(4)

=−22w+−5+5w+−5w+−20

Combine Like Terms:

=−22w+−5+5w+−5w+−20

=(−22w+5w+−5w)+(−5+−20)

=−22w+−25

Marysya12 [62]

yo sup??

mid point of circle=centre of circle

let centre be O(3,2)

and the point be P(-4,8) and the other point be Q(x,y)

by mid point formula

-4+x/2=3 and 8+y/2=2

x=10 and y=-4

therefore coordinates of the other point are (10,-4)

Hope this helps.
