Answer:

T' (4,8)

S' (4,-4)

R' (-4,-4)

U' (-4,8)

Step-by-step explanation:

A dilation is an enlargement if the scale factor is greater than 1 and a reduction if it is less than 1. In this it is an enlargement so you multiply each coordinate by the scale factor which is 4. Since the coordinate for T is (1,2) you multiply 1x4 and 2x4 making the new coordinate (4,8). Since it is a new coordinate you add ' to the letter for the coordinate. Then you do that for the rest of the coordinates and graph it.

olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

You are combining like terms.

1.) find all of the #x³ and there is only one and that is -x³ so that limits the problem to B or D.

2.) now you find all of the #x² and there are three of them being 10x², -x², and 4x². Now that you have identified them you will add them together to get a sum of 13x²

you don't have to do anymore of the question because D does not have 13x² so it is B.

Which factors of −14 are used to factor x2+5x−14?
mario62 [17]

Answer:

+ 7 and - 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

x² + 5x - 14

Consider the factors of the constant term (- 14) which sum to give the coefficient of the x- term (+ 5)

The factors are + 7 and - 2 , since

7 × - 2 = - 14 and 7 - 2 = + 5 , then

x² + 5x - 14 = (x + 7)(x - 2) ← in factored form

ABCD is a rhombus. The diagonals, AC and BD, intersect at the point M. The coordinates of M are (6, -11). The points A and C bot
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer:

The exact coordinates of the point where the line through B and D intersects the y-axis is \left ( 0, \ -12\dfrac{5}{7} \right)

Step-by-step explanation:

For the given question, we have the following parameters;

The shape of the quadrilateral ABCD in the question = A rhombus

The diagonals of the rhombus = AC and BD

The point of intersection of the diagonals, M = (6, -11)

The equation of the line points A and C lie = 2·y + 7·x = 20

A rhombus is an orthodiagonal quadrilateral (The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular)

Therefore;

AC ⊥ BD  and where the slope of the line with points A and C is 'm', the slope of the line with points B and D is (-1/m)

Rewriting the equation, 2·y + 7·x = 20, in slope and intercept form, we have;

2·y + 7·x = 20

y = (- 7·x + 20)/2 = -7·x/2 + 10

∴ y = -7·x/2 + 10

The slope of the line 'y = -7·x/2 + 10', m = -7/2

∴ The slope of the line having the points B and D is -1/m = -1/(-7/2) = 2/7

The equation of the line having the points B and D in point and slope form, using point (6, -11) is given as follows;

y - (-11) = 2/7 × (x - 6)

y + 11 = 2·x/7 - 12/7

∴ y = 2·x/7 - 12/7 - 11 = 2·x/7 - 89/7 = 2·x/7 - 12\dfrac{5}{7}

The equation of the line having the points B and D in point is therefore;

y = 2·x/7 - 12\dfrac{5}{7}

The coordinates of the point where the line having the points B and D intersects the y-axis is the y-intercept, of the equation,  y = 2·x/7 - 12\dfrac{5}{7}, which is \left ( 0, \ -12\dfrac{5}{7} \right)
