The range finder is 112 feet from the building ( adjacent ) and 131 feet from the top of the building ( hypotenuse ).
We will use the Pythagorean theorem:
x² = 131² - 112²
x² = 17,161 - 12,544
x² = 4,617
x  = √ 4,617
x = 67.948
The height of the building:
h = x + 3 = 67.948 + 3 = 70.948 ≈ 70.9 ft ( to the nearest tenth )
Answer: h = 70.9 feet.

Find the values of X and Y using the PARALLELOGRAM.
Tema [17]

Answer:

x = 11

y = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

In a parallelogram opposite sides are equal.

8x = 88

x = 88/8

x = 11

4y - 7 = y + 2

4y      = y + 2 + 7

    4y = y + 9

4y - y = 9

       3y =  9

         y = 9/3

        y = 3

What is 2.8 as a fraction in simplest form
irina1246 [14]
2.8 = 2 + 0.8

*let's analyze the decimal 0.8 as a fraction

0.8 = 8/10

*but if we divide the numerator and denominator by the same common factor of 2, we find that the fraction can be reduced to:

(8/2)/(10/2) = (4)/(5) = 4/5

*now evaluating the whole value of 2 (from the 2.8), we know there are a total of (5) - fifths in order to make a whole, so for 2 whole, we require:

2*(5/5) = (2*5)/5 = 10/5

*Now we add the fractions together:

2 = 10/5
0.8 = 4/5

10/5 + 4/5

*add numerators only, the denominator stays as a 5

(10 + 4)/5 = 14/5

*there are no common factors between 14 & 5 (other than 1, but that won't help reduce the fraction any), so the fraction is in it's simplest form:

answer is: 14/5

Solve the multi step literal equation: solve equation for A b^2A^2-3g=q
I am Lyosha [343]

Answer:

A = ± \sqrt{\frac{q+3g}{b^2} }

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

b²A² - 3g = q ( add 3g to both sides )

b²A² = q + 3g ( divide both sides by b² )

A² = \frac{q+3g}{b^2} ( take the square root of both sides )

A = ± \sqrt{\frac{q+3g}{b^2} }
