What change in renal regulation of h+ would help compensate for a metabolic acidosis?

Biology

The answer would be: an increase in the production of new plasma HCO3-

In metabolic acidosis, the pH of the blood is too acid which means there is too much H+ ion in the blood. The kidney can compensate it by making more OH- and dump more H+ to the urine.
The H+ is not filtered, it was secreted by the cells. More H+ will decrease the pH of the urine, makes it more acid. Acid secretion allows more HCO3- production.
Bicarbonate or HCO3- is base ion and increasing its production will lower the blood pH.

Answer:

With the findings of the 2016 Census count on population and dwellings, Statistics Canada gives Canadians a first look at the most recent national statistical snapshot.

The census counts 35,151,728 persons who said they lived in Canada on May 10, 2016, and displays population growth patterns across the country.

The organization will provide the complete spectrum of census data during the following year, as Canadians commemorate 150 years since Confederation, in order to portray a truthful picture of Canadians' lives and communities.

In 1871, the first census following Confederation recorded 3.5 million people in Canada, while the population figure in 2016 was ten times higher. When Canadians celebrated the 100th anniversary of Confederation in 1967, that number had risen to 20.0 million people (1966 Census).

Canadians have been making their way west for many years. The four founding provinces of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia housed the majority of Canadians in 1871, whereas Western Canada was lightly populated. Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia accounted for over a third of the population in 2016.:

What environmental stimulus is most likely to result in a more rapid heartbeat in an animal?
Kipish [7]

Answer:

This question is incomplete, the options are:

A) Decreased temperature

B) Strong southerly winds

C) Presence of a predator

D) Lack of water

The answer is C

Explanation:

A stimulus is something that provokes a response or reaction in a living organism. It can either be internal or external. An animal can respond to stimulus such as hunger, heat, predator etc.

However, among all the listed stimuli in the options, the PRESENCE OF A PREDATOR is most likely to result in a more rapid heartbeat in an animal. This is because the predator stimulus will require the animal to respond by running in order to survive. Running will increase its metabolic activity and cause its heartbeat to increase.
