How do power plants hurt the environment?
djverab [1.8K]

Answer:

A power plant can hurt the environment in different ways and the effects can either cause permanent damage or temporary damage.

Many power plants use fossil fuels as a source of energy. As a result, fossil fuels such as natural gas, coal, oil etc become depleted.

Water is used abundantly by the power plants to cool down various products or for many other processes. When this contaminated water is released in the rivers it becomes harmful for the wildlife animals and plants. It leads to eutrophication.

Power plants also tend to release many harmful gases into the air and cause environmental pollution.
