Eukaryotic cells have membrane bound organelles which prokaryotic cells do not have.Prokaryotic cells lack golgi apparatus, chloroplast, Endoplasmic reticulum, true nucleus, lysosome and mitochondria. Eukaryotic cells have a true nuclear membrane which is not there in prokaryotic cells.
The distinction is that eukaryotic cells have a "true" nucleus containing their DNA, whereas prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus. Both eukaryotes andprokaryotes contain large RNA/protein structures called ribosomes, which produce protein.
