Ameena will need a total of 7 packages of paper. (Not every sheet will be used, but having just 6 packages won’t give here enough paper to use). Here’s why:

If she needs 74 copies of the newsletter, and each newsletter contains 8 pages, then she will need a total of 592 pieces of paper (74*8=592). 7 packages will give her 630 pieces of paper to use (90*7=630). 6 packages would only give her 540 pieces of paper (90*6=540), so she needs 7 total packages of paper.

the surface area of a cuboid is 95cm² and its lateral surface area is 63cm². find the area of its base
wel

Answer:

The Area of the base is 16 cm² .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The surface area of the cuboid = x = 95 cm²

The lateral surface area of the cuboid = y = 63 cm²

Let The Area of the base = z cm²

Now, Let The length of cuboid = l cm

The breadth of cuboid = b cm

The height of cuboid = h cm

<u>According to question</u>

∵ The surface area of the cuboid = 2 ×(length × breadth + breadth × height + height × length)

Or, x = 2 ×(l × b + b × h + h × l)

Or, 95 =  2 ×(l × b + b × h + h × l)

Or,  (l × b + b × h + h × l) = \dfrac{95}{2}          ....1

<u>Similarly</u>

∵lateral surface area of the cuboid = 2 ×(breadth × height + length × height)

Or, y = 2 ×(b × h + l × h)

Or, 2 ×(b × h + l × h) = 63

Or, (b × h + l × h) = \dfrac{63}{2}              ......2

Putting value of eq 2 into eq 1

so,  (l × b +  \dfrac{63}{2} ) = \dfrac{95}{2}

Or, l × b = \dfrac{95}{2} - \dfrac{63}{2}

Or,  l × b = \dfrac{95 - 63}{2}

i.e l × b = \dfrac{32}{2}

so, l × b = 16

<u>Now, Again</u>

∵The Area of the base = ( length × breadth ) cm²

So, z =  l × b

i.e z = 16 cm²

So, The Area of the base = z = 16 cm²

Hence,The Area of the base is 16 cm² . Answer

The segments shown below could form a triangle?
Leni [432]

Answer:

<em>Option B; False</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider a Triangle Inequality to prove that these segments could form a triangle;

| a - b | < c < a + b,\\| c - a | < b < a + c,\\| c - b | < a < b + c, Considering - a - segment AC ( 8 units ) - b - BC ( 7 units ), -  c - BC ( 15 units )\\\\| 8 - 7 | < 15 < 8 + 7,\\1 < 15 < 15, Now 15 is not < 15, it is =, thus ;\\Solution ; False

<em>These segments could not form a triangle</em>

Six pyramids are shown inside of a cube. The height of the cube is h units. The lengths of the sides of the cube are b.The area
Viefleur [7K]

Step-by-step explanation:

Cubes have square faces, so the area of the base is b².

The volume of the cube is b³.

The height of each pyramid is half the height of the cube, so h = b/2.  Which means b = 2h.

The cube is made of 6 square pyramids with the same base and height.  Therefore, each pyramid has 1/6 the volume of the cube.  So the volume of each pyramid is b³/6.

What is the length of QR?
Elena L [17]

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the triangle is right with hypotenuse QR

Use Pythagoras' identity to solve for QR

The square on the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares on the other two sides, that is

QR² = 8² + (8\sqrt{3} )²

       = 64 + 192

       = 256 ( take the square root of both sides )

QR = \sqrt{256} = 16
