So, for number one, 25% is easy, because it's 1/4, so 46/4=11.5$
then, number two, 15 percent, you can break it into 10, and 5, so $35.45/.1=3.545, and then five percent of that is 1.7725, then 3.545+1.7725=7.09, so that's your answer for number two. Then tree, is 40% of 174. of means multiply, so change 40% into a fraction, and times it by 174$, so the answer is= 40/100=4/10=2/5*174=69.6$
Do you get it now, or do you need help with the other ones

Multiply each price by the discount into a decimal (move the decimal place over 2 on the percents) then subtract that from the regular price and that's sale price

The perimeters of two similar figures are 15 in. and 24 in. What is the ratio of the areas of the two figures? State your answer
kkurt [141]

Answer:

25/64

Step-by-step explanation:

ratio of perimeters = 15/24 = 5/8

ratio of areas = square of ratio of perimeters

ratio of areas = (5/8)^2 = 25/64

What makes b in the equation true 3/8 X 8/b
Gala2k [10]

\frac{3}{8} * \frac{8}{b} = \frac{3}{1} * \frac{1}{b} (I crossed simplify)

Next cross multiply;

3b = 1

b = 1/3

To check if the statement is true just substitute the value of b in the equation;

3b = 1

3(1/3) = 1

1 = 1

What does it mean when a question number is circled in a textbook
RoseWind [281]
This is only my opinion. I could be wrong.

My guess is:

Somebody else used that book before you, maybe last year or
the year before, and it was somebody who didn't mind writing
in his book.

One day he didn't have time to write down the homework in his
assignment notebook, so he just circled the homework problems
in his textbook.

A car travels 17 miles on one gallon of gas.
ehidna [41]

Answer:

y ranges from 2890 miles to 5780 miles.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us call y the number of miles the car travels, and x the number of gallons of gas that are used, then we have the relationship

y=17x (this says the car travels 17 miles for each gallon of gas).

Now, when x=170, we have

y=17(170)

y=2890\: miles

and when x=340, we have

y=17(340)

y=5780\:miles

So, when x goes from 170 to 340, y goes from 2890 to 5780.

Therefore, when x ranges from 170 to 340 gallons, the distance traveled ranges from 2890 to 5780 miles.

The Hypotenuse Angle Theorem, similar to the HL Theorem, states that if the hypotenuse and one angle of a right triangle are con
Maru [420]

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to proof the HA theorem, we consider two triangles and which are right angle triangles. The right angle lies at points and respectively.

We also consider that the hypotenuse are congruent meaning and .

Now we have taken that angle and .

Since and are 90 degrees, so angle B would be congruent to angle E i.e

Hence by Angle, side and angle congruence in both triangles we can write as, .

And this is what the HA thoerem states also
