X=children y=adults
5800=1.5x+4y
2700=x+y

First, solve the second equation for y
y=2700-x
Second, take the equasion that was just solved a substitute it in for y in the first equation
5800=1.5x+4(2700-x)
diatribute the 4 within the parenthesis
5800=1.5x+10800-4x
combine like terms
5800=-2.5x+10800
subtract 10800
-5000=-2.5x
divide by -2.5
2000=x

Take the value for x and place it in the second equation(beginning)
2700=x+y
2700=2000+y
subtract 2000
700=y

There were 2000 children and 700 adults admitted.

2( 10 - a^2 ) + 7a If ( a = 4 )Evaluate each expression
Lostsunrise [7]

Solution:

Given:

2(10-a^2)+7a

when a = 4, substitute for a in the expression;

\begin{gathered} 2(10-a^2)+7a=2(10-4^2)+7(4) \\ =2(10-16)+28 \\ =2(-6)+28 \\ =-12+28 \\ =16 \end{gathered}

Therefore, if (a = 4), then

2(10-a^2)+7a=16

Hence, the answer is 16.

Answer and Step-by-step explanation:

Yes, the three side lengths could form a triangle.

To find out if the sides can form a triangle, you take the lowest side lengths and add them together. If they are greater than the longest side, then they can form a triangle. If it is equal or less than the longest side, then it CAN NOT form a triangle.

7.8 + 10.4 > 13

18.2 > 13

So, the answer is Yes.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The easiest way to start is to do this problem is to start changing the 3/4 cup to a decimal

3/4 = 0.75

Now divide that into 11. What you are interested in is the remainder.

11/0.75 = 14.66667

He can make 14 whole pizzas.

He has 0.66667 of a cup left over which is less than 3/4 (or 0.75) so he does not have enough for another pizza.

So the answer is 0.66667 which is 2/3 of a cup is left over.
