First of all, angle 4 is not congruent to angle 7 because of same side interior angles.  They are congruent because they are corresponding angles.  Next, where it says supplementary angles theorem, that is incorrect because the answer is supposed to be angle addition postulate.  Lastly, it isnt the transitive propety but it is actually the substitution propert of equality because you substitute angle 7 with angle 4.  Hope this helps...

. Among all the income tax forms filed in a certain year, the mean tax paid was $2000, and the standard deviation was $500. In a
Anarel [89]

Answer:

a) 0.8413

b) 0.6293

Step-by-step explanation:

Data provided:

Mean tax paid = $2000

Standard deviation = $500

Sample size, n = 625

n=625

Now,

a) P( average tax paid on the sample forms is greater than $1980)

⇒ P(X > 1980)

or

⇒ P(\frac{(X-mean)}{\frac{s}{\sqrt n}})

or

⇒ P(\frac{(1980-2000)}{\frac{500}{\sqrt{625}}})

or

⇒ P(Z > -1)

or

= 0.8413 (From standard normal table)

b) P(more than 60 of the sampled forms have a tax of greater than $3000)

given:  p = 10% = 0.1

Now, by using CLT

mean = n × p

= 625 × 0.1

= 62.5

Standard deviation, s =\sqrt{n\times p\times(1-p)}

=\sqrt{625\times0.1\times(1-0.1)}

= 7.5

Thus,

P(X > 60)

= P(\frac{(X-mean)}{s} > \frac{(60-62.5)}{7.5})

or

= P(Z > -0.33)

= 0.6293     (From standard normal table)

Using the same triangle as above, calculate the area of the triangle. You must show TWO methods for calculating the area of the
Damm [24]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of a triangle is 1/2 * b * h

b = base, the one labeled b on the diagram

h = height, the dotted line in the middle

so, you do pythagorean theorem with a and b to find the dotted line

a² + b² = h² (h is for height)

h = \sqrt{a^{2} +b^{2}}

Then, you just plug in the numbers from question 3 to find h and then you do

1/2 * b * h

In October 2009,there were approximately 5x10^7 members of a website. In January 2013, there were approximately 2x10^8 members.
JulsSmile [24]

Answer:

There\ were\ 1.5\times 10^8\ more\ members\ in\ January\ 2013\ than\ in\ October\ 2009.

Step-by-step explanation:

Number\ of\ members\ in\ October\ 2009=5\times 10^7\\\\Number\ of\ members\ in\ January\ 2013=2\times 10^8\\\\Number\ of\ members\ in\ January\ 2013=2\times 10\times 10^7\\\\Number\ of\ members\ in\ January\ 2013=20\times 10^7

More members in January 2013=Number of members in January 2013-Number of members in October 2009.

The\ number\ of\ members\ that\ are\ more\ in\ January\ 2013=20\times 10^7-5\times 10^7\\\\The\ number\ of\ members\ that\ are\ more\ in\ January\ 2013=(20-5)\times 10^7\\\\The\ number\ of\ members\ that\ are\ more\ in\ January\ 2013=15\times 10^7\\\\The\ number\ of\ members\ that\ are\ more\ in\ January\ 2013=1.5\times 10\times 10^7\\\\The\ number\ of\ members\ that\ are\ more\ in\ January\ 2013=1.5\times 10^8\\\\There\ were\ 1.5\times 10^8\ more\ members\ in\ January\ 2013\ than\ in\ October\ 2009.
