<u>Answer:</u> The correct answer is Option 3.

<u>Explanation:</u>

All the radioisotope decay processes follow first order kinetics.

Rate law expression for first order kinetics is given by the equation:

k=\frac{2.303}{t}\log\frac{a}{a-x}

where,

k = rate constant  = ?

t = time taken for decay process = 8.32 seconds

a = initial amount of the reactant  = 80 mg

a - x = amount left after decay process  = 20 mg

Putting values in above equation, we get:

k=\frac{2.303}{8.32sec}\log\frac{80g}{20}\\\\k=0.166sec^{-1}

The equation used to calculate half life for first order kinetics:

t_{1/2}=\frac{0.693}{k}

where,

t_{1/2} = half life of the reaction = ?

k = 0.166sec^{-1}

Putting values in above equation, we get:

t_{1/2}=\frac{0.693}{0.166sec^{-1}}=4.16sec

Hence, the correct answer is Option 3.

Answer:

4.16s

Explanation:

N = 20*10⁻³g

N₀ = 80*10⁻³g

t = 8.32

N = N₀e⁻λt

In(N/N₀) = -λt

-λ = 1/t * In(N/N₀)

-λ = 1 / 8.32 * In (20*10⁻³ / 80*10⁻³)

-λ = 0.12 * In(0.25)

-λ = -0.167

λ = 0.167

t½ = 0.693 / λ

t½ = 0.693 / 0.167

t½ = 4.16s

Once the water evaporates, you will start to see the minerals that were present in the water before it changed state. If the water was from the ocean, you will see salt crystals in the evaporated water. If the water was fresh, you may see other minerals typically found in fresh water.

Butanal, an aldehyde, can be made from 1-bromobutane, but it requires two reactions in sequence. What are the two reagents that
hammer [34]

Answer:

See explanation and image attached

Explanation:

My aim is to convert 1-bromobutane to butanal. The first step is to react the 1-bromobutane substrate with water. This reaction occurs by SN2 mechanism to yield 1-butanol. Hence reagent A is water.

1-butanol is now reacted with an oxidizing agent such as acidified K2Cr2O7 (reagent B) to yield butanal. Note that primary alkanols are oxidized to alkanals.

These sequence of reactions are shown in the image attached.

How many moles are 7.25 x 1023 formula units of Mgo ?
romanna [79]

Answer:

<h2>The answer is option D</h2>

Explanation:

To find the number of moles in a substance given it's number of entities we use the formula

n =  \frac{N}{L}  \\

where n is the number of moles

N is the number of entities

L is the Avogadro's constant which is

6.02 × 10²³ entities

From the question we have

n =  \frac{7.25 \times  {10}^{23} }{6.02 \times  {10}^{23} }  =  \frac{7.25}{6.02}  \\  = 1.2043189368...

We have the final answer as

<h3>1.20 moles</h3>

Hope this helps you
