The First Amendment of the constitution of the United States of America highlights Freedom of Speech for the citizens. The government has made efforts to censor certain materials especially on the internet which has met constant opposition.

The American Civil Liberties Union attests to the fact that several states in the United States of America have censorship laws. These laws are violations of the Freedom of Speech in the First Amendment for they limit people's right to express their views.

What happened?: The Battle of Golden Hill was a battle between the British and Americans where Liberty Poles were planted and sawed down. Things were being burnt and everything was extremley violent.

Why did it happen?: The British cut down the last Liberty Pole that the Americans had put up

I also never personally learned about the Golden Battle when I was in my American Revolution Unit either so this is the best I can come up with and I hope it helped.
