If the function graphed is f(x), find f(1)

Mathematics

Answer:

f(1)=-4

Step-by-step explanation:

f(1) means what is the y in the point on the curve of f so that x=1.

So I go to x=1 on the x-axis.

So I go right one from the origin.

I notice the curve is below the x-axis so I go down to the curve til I get to the curve.

Once I get to the curve, I look at the y-axis to tell what that number is for that ordered pair there at x=1.

That y-value is -4.

A graph/picture is probably worth a lot more to you then my words.

Other examples:

f(2)=-5

f(3)=0

f(-1)=4

f(-2)=5

f(-3)=0

The y-intercept of the line whose equation is x - y = 7 is
Delvig [45]
X-y=7
 so you have to rewrite the equation in the form of mx+b=y
so ... x-y=7
         -x     -x
     -y=7-x then simplify
-y(-y)=-(7-x) multiply both sides by -1
y=-7+x
  which is the same y= x-7
                                y=x+-7

The Art Club wants to paint a rectangle-shaped mural to celebrate the winners of the track and field meet. They design a checker
valentina_108 [34]

Answer:

72 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that

Length of rectangle=423 inches

Width of rectangle=360 inches

We have to find the side length of the largest square they can use to fill the checkboard pattern completely without overlap or gaps with the help of Euclid's algorithm.

In order to find the largest side of square we will find HCF (432,360).

Euclid's algorithm

a=bq+r

a=dividend

b=divisor

q=quotient

r=remainder

a=432,b=360

432=360\times 1+72

360=72\times 5+0

HCF(432,360)=72

Hence, the side of largest square=72  inches

a line passes through the point (-3,-5) and has a slope of 5 write an equation in point slope form for this line
Tanzania [10]

Answer:

y=5x+10

Step-by-step explanation:

1) Plug numbers into slope formula to find b.

y=mx+b

-5=5(-3)+b

2) Simplify to find b.

-5=-15+b

10=b

3) Check work.

-5=-15+10

This statement is true.

4) Write equation.

y=5x+10
