put a point on (0,-3) this is your y intercept
go up 6 and over 1 this should land you at (1,0) do this again and your at (2,6)
go back to the y intercept now go down 6 and over 1, this should land you (-1,-6)

Well first you substitute -3 for y and then subtract 12 from both sides of the equation and it should look like -15=-3x. Then divide 3 on both sides and you should end up getting 5=x.
