So at the beginning, the friends eat 3 meat pies in total. So that leaves two meat pies left.
So basically, we divide the meat pies by the number of friends.
2/6 is 1/3
So each friend needs to eat 1/3 of a meat pie

There are 12 jurors sitting in a circle
STALIN [3.7K]
I believe you are asking in how many ways they can sit. If so:
The 1st can sit anywhere: he has only 1 way to sit
The 2nd can sit in 11 ways, since one seat is already occupied
The 3rd can sit in 10 ways, since 2 seat are already occupied
The 4th can sit in 9 ways, since 3 seat are already occupied
The 5th can sit in 8 ways, since 4 seat are already occupied
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 12th can sit in 1 way, since11 seat are already occupied
General formula for a circular table:

Number of ways they n persons can be seated: (n-1)!
and the 12 can be seated in (12-1)! = 11! = 39,916,800 ways.
This is called circular permutation

Nadya [2.5K]
The altitude is 177 feet below sea level after being lowered.

The balloon rises 120 feet after 12 seconds and then is dropped 15 feet. So 120 - 15 = 105. And 282 - 105 = 177

In 2016, there were a total of 41 national battlefields and national memorials. The number of national memorials is three less t
goldfiish [28.3K]

Answer: 11, 30

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

There were a total of 41 national battlefields and national memorials

Suppose there are x national battlefields

So, national memorials are 3x-3

The sum of the two must be 41

\Rightarrow x+3x-3=41\\\Rightarrow 4x=44\\\Rightarrow x=11

So, there are 11 national battlefields and 3\times 11-3=30 national memorials.
