Answer:

a) 2 people

b) 20 people

Step-by-step explanation:

a) The social network contains four people networking with six other people, altogether there are ten people netwoking together.

So, if one person in one social network, network with five others in the network, but when it is paired, we have eight altogether in the first case.

When the other case are paired, it is discovered that, the remaining pair is left with two people networking with three other people.

b) Altogether, when it is paired in each case, the following summation provides the number of people that network with each other:

First case = 1 + 5 + 2 = 8

Second case = 5 + 4 + 3 = 12

Altogether it is 20 people

A diamond today cost ten dollars more than twice what it cost last year. The sum of the cost (last year and this year) is $2500.
nadya68 [22]

Answer:

The cost of the diamond last year is x = $ 830

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost of diamond last year = x

the cost of diamond present year = y

Given that diamond today cost ten dollars more than twice what it cost last year.

⇒ y = 2 x + 10 ------ (1)

The sum of the cost (last year and this year) is = $ 2500

⇒ x + y = $ 2500 -------- (2)

Put the value of y in equation (2) from equation (1), we get

⇒ 2 x + 10 + x = $ 2500

⇒ 3 x = 2490

⇒ x = $ 830

& y = 2500 - 830

⇒ y = $ 1670

Therefore the cost of the diamond last year is x = $ 830

What caused Christendom to be a troubled realm at the end of the middle ages?
Hitman42 [59]
Wicked monarchs, like Henry VIII, tried (unsuccessfully) to destroy the Church, to help them achieve their own twisted ambitions. Even today some politicians are anxious to turn Britain into a pagan/humanist country. Pope Urban II , tried (unsuccessfully) to force those of other faiths to convert, to help them achieve their own twisted ambitions. Even today some priests are anxious to put all the pagans/humanists/atheists to the torch and blame them for all of Britain's ills.

WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELPPPPP
krek1111 [17]

Complete the squares:

x^2+2x=x^2+2x+1-1=(x+1)^2-1

y^2-4y=y^2-4y+4-4=(y-2)^2-4

So we can rewrite the given expression as

\bigg((x+1)^2-1\bigg)+\bigg((y-2)^2-4\bigg)+8=(x+1)^2+(y-2)^2+3

Both (x+1)^2 and (y-2)^2 are non-negative for any choice of real x,y, which means the minimum value is 3 for x=-1 and y=2.
