Mathematics

Steps to solve:

y = x - 3

~Subtract x to both sides

y - x = x - x + (-3)

~Simplify

y - x = -3

~Subtract y to both sides

y - y - x = -3 - y

~Simplify

-x = -3 - y

~Divide x by -1 to both sides

-x/-1 = -3/-1 + (-y/-1)

~Simplify

x = 3 + y or x = y + 3

Best of Luck!

Ms. Donaldson earns $19.20 per hour for the first 40 hours she works in a week. She earns 1 1/2 times that amount per hour for e
Mice21 [21]

Answer:

a) $926.40

b) $606.32

Step-by-step explanation:

a)

If she worked a total of 45.5 hours, she will receive $19.20 per hour in the first 40 hours and 1.5 * $19.20 for the exceeding 5.5 hours, so her earnings is:

19.2 * 40 + 1.5 * 5.5 * 19.2 = $926.40

b)

The deduction is $34.75, so the remaining will be:

926.40 - 34.75 = $891.65

Then, after this deduction, the taxes is 32% of the remaining, so:

891.65 - 0.32 * 891.65 = $606.32

She received $606.32

Which of the following constants can be added to x^2-3x to form a perfect trinomial?
cricket20 [7]

We want to make x^2-3x into a perfect square trinomial. An example of such a trinomial is x^2 + 6x + 9, which is equivalent to the square of (x+3).

From x^2-3x we see that the coefficient of x is -3. Divide this coefficient, -3, by 2, obtaining -3/2. Now square this result: square -3/2. Result: 9/4.

Adding 9/4 to x^2-3x makes x^2-3x into a perfect square trinomial.

Miss Green tells you that a right triangle has a hypotenuse of 13 and a leg of 5 she asked you to find the other leg of the tria
Natalka [10]

Answer:

The other leg of the triangle is 12.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Hypotenuse of triangle is 13 and a leg(Leg1) is 5.

Let, the other leg of the triangle (Leg2) be x.

Now, putting the formula:

(Hypotenuse)^{2}=(Leg1)^{2}+(Leg2)^{2}

⇒ 13^{2} =5^{2} +x^{2}

⇒169=25+x^{2}

⇒169-25=x^{2}

⇒144=x^{2}

Taking square root both sides

⇒12=x

⇒x=12.

Therefore, the other leg of the triangle is 12.
