The Erikson's theory focuses on the psychosocial development of an individual from infancy to late adulthood. This theory comprises of tasks associated with each of the eight stages of development, which should be successfully completed in order to have a healthy personality.
The second stage of development is known as the autonomy stage and occurs in children aged between 18 months and about 3 years. In this children gain control over the motor abilities, learn about the environment and assert their will. Example: Toilet training and clothing oneself
