If someone owned them, bought them like tools the slaves didn't have any right to anything. So that's why I think the fur industry didn't need any slave help because at that time the whites believed that the blacks were horrid beasts and other rude and offence remarks, and if they set them free and gave guns to them, the slaves would react and kill every white seen.
