y=1200+125x

so the equation would be 5000=1200+125x

5000-1200=1200-1200+125x

3800=125x

3800/125=125x/125

30.4=x

when x equals amount of cars, so he has to sell 31 cars.

aksik [14]

Answer:

\frac{x^2}{36} + \frac{y^2}{100} = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Required

The equation of the ellipse

This is calculated as:

\frac{x^2}{a^2} + \frac{y^2}{b^2} = 1

Where:

b =6 ---- height

a = 0.5 * 20 =10 --- width

So:

\frac{x^2}{a^2} + \frac{y^2}{b^2} = 1

\frac{x^2}{6^2} + \frac{y^2}{10^2} = 1

\frac{x^2}{36} + \frac{y^2}{100} = 1
