How do you do this question with or without a calculator?

Mathematics

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The idea is not usual, but once you have seen the answer, I think you will grasp the principle so well that you will understand the concept much better when you hit the idea in higher mathematics which you will. Take a much easier example of the same thing.

What is 0/0? What does it mean.

Suppose it does equal something. What is that something? Write it like this.

  • a * 0 = 0 What is the value of a?
  • Could it be 5? Sure, why not. 5*0 is 0.
  • Could it be 18? Sure, why not. 18*0 = 0
  • Could it be pi? And again why not. Pi * 0 = 0

Having established that it can be anything at all, we turn to your problem.

ln(1) = 0 Try that on your calculator.

Now as x approaches 1, x - 1 becomes 0.

So what you have is

\frac{lim}{x \to 1}\text{x - 1}=0

Now you get 0/0 which has no definite answer by the remarks made above.

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

1

Discussion:

Problem: Evaluate  ln(x) / (x-1) as x approaches 1.

As ln(1) = 0 and (1-1) = 0 this ratio is an 0/0 indeterminate form. Let's use L'Hopitals theorem:

....as x approaches 1,

ln(x) / ( x- 1)  =  derivative of (ln (x))  / derivative of (x-1) =

                        1/x                           /  1                            = 1/x

As x approaches 1, 1/x approaches 1/1 or 1

MrB

PLEASEE HELPP ME IM DESPERATE
miss Akunina [59]

Answer:

I can help with Q "4" as -

It uses triangle congruence test -  here we use - SAS, as

one side is equal as it is given

both the  angles are 90 degree

and they share a same side

so -

8x = 6x + 5

8x - 6x = 5

2x = 5

x = 2.5

RU = 6x+ 5 = 6 (2.5) + 5 = 20

( I am not so sure but I think this is the answer )

Kim purchased white vases, red vases, and flowers to create centerpieces for an event. The flowers cost a total of $336 and each
laiz [17]

Option A:

I and III only the answers.

Solution:

Let white vases be "w" and red vases be "r".

Cost of total flower = $336

Cost of each vase = $11

Total cost of the centerpieces

                = Cost of (white vases + red vases)  + Cost of flowers

                = 11(w + r) + 336

                = 11w + 11r + 336

Total cost of the centerpieces = 11w + 11r + 336 = 11(w + r) + 336

Therefore I and III only the answers.

Option A is the correct answer.

Find the 75th term of the following arithmetic sequence.<br> 6, 11, 16, 21,
katrin [286]

Answer:

The 75th term in the sequence is 16

Step-by-step explanation:

The 75th term of a sequence can be considered as the term that is in the position at 75% along the sequence. This is assuming that the sequence has been sorted already from lowest value to highest value

In this sequence, which has 4 terms, we can find the 75th term by finding what term is at 75% (or three-quarters) along the sequence.

To find the 75th term:

Multiply the number of terms by 0.75 (or 75%/100%) :

             0.75*4 terms= 3

Then, we find the value of the term that is at position 3 from the left (lowest number)

In this case, the term that is at the 3rd position from the left is 16

Thus, the 75th term in the sequence is 16
