Answer:

Largest : 404000

Smallest : 395000

Step-by-step explanation:

At president Bush's inauguration in 2005,the newspaper headlines stated there were about 400,000 people in attendance.

As the newspaper rounded to the nearest ten thousand , so the largest number of people will be = 404000  (if it were 405000, it will round to 410000 which is wrong)

The smallest number or people will be = 395000

The smallest would have been 35,000.  The largest would have been 44,999.

g find all the values of p for which the following functions are improperly integrable on the indicated domain. be sure to prove
mel-nik [20]

Answer:

1. In order to make the integral improper  p  must be 1.

2. In order to make the integral improper  p  must be 1.

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the rules of integration we get that for

f(x)= \frac{1}{x^p}

\int\limits_{0}^{1}  \frac{1}{x^p}  \, dx  = \frac{x^{1-p}}{(1-p)}  \, |\limits_{0}^{1}   = \frac{1}{1-p} - 0 = \frac{1}{1-p}

Therefore in order to make that integral improper  p  must be 1.

If  p = 1     then you would have a 1/0  indeterminate form.

2.   Using the of integration, specifically substitution we get that for

f(x) = \frac{1}{x(ln(x)^p)}

\int\limits_{e}^{\infty} \frac{1}{x(ln(x))^p} \, dx  = \frac{(ln(x))^{1-p}}{1-p} \, |\limits_{e}^{\infty}

For   p \geq 1  we would have

\int\limits_{e}^{\infty} \frac{1}{x(ln(x))^p} \, dx  = \frac{1}{p-1}

And the problem is the same.  If  p=1   we would have a 1/0 indeterminate form.

What is the difference between hyperbola and parabola??
g100num [7]

Answer:

1)A parabola is defined as a set of points in a plane which are equidistant from a straight line or directrix and focus.

The hyperbola can be defined as the difference of distances between a set of points, which are present in a plane to two fixed points is a positive constant.

2)A parabola has single focus and directrix

A hyperbola has two foci and two directrices

3)Eccentricity, e = 1(parabola)

Eccentricity, e>1(hyperbola)

4)The two arms present in a parabola should be parallel to each other

The arms present in hyperbola are not parallel to each other

5)It has no asymptotes(parabola)

It has two asymptotes(hyperbola)
