Given a card picked from a standard deck of 52.

1 card is picked from 52 cards. So there are 52 possible outcomes.

Also given a coin is flipped 4 times.

If a coin is flipped there are two out comes either heads or tails.

So for flipping of coin 1 time there are 2 outcomes.

If we flip the coin 4 times the total number of outcomes = (2)(2)(2)(2) = 16

Now picking a card from a standard deck and flipping a coin 4 times, the total possible outcome we will get by multiplying the outcomes for them.

So total outcomes = (52)(16)

= 832

We have got the required answer.

Total possible outcomes = 832.

A local hamburger shop sold a combined total of 813 hamburgers and cheeseburgers on Saturday. There were 63 more cheeseburger so

Answer:

 375 hamburgers

Step-by-step explanation:

Let h represent the number of hamburgers. Then h+63 is the number of cheeseburgers, and the combined total is ...

 h +(h +63) = 813

 2h = 813 -63 = 750

 h = 750/2 = 375

375 hamburgers were sold on Saturday.

_____

Additional comment

In a "sum and difference" problem like this, the smaller number is half the difference between the sum and the difference. h = (813 -63)/2 = 375. This generic solution applies to all "sum and difference" problems.

15 men can build a wall in 42 hours, how many men will be required for the same work in 30 hours
Mariulka [41]

Answer:

This question can be solved using direct and inverse variation. Direct variation can be solved using unitary method that is common sense like if you buy 10 chocolates for 100 rupees how many rupees would you pay for 20 - this is simple as if 10 chocolates is 100 then 20 would be 200. HOWEVER, Inverse Variation is when one value increase the other value decreases and they are proportional. They have a formula called x1/x2 = y2/y1.

In this problem we can use this formula, x1/x2 = 15/42 and y2/y1 = 30/x

so hence 15/42 = 30/x

= 15x = 30*42

x= 1260/15

= 84

Therefore 84 is the answer.
