The formula is y2 - y1/x2 - x1.  The answer would be 3/4 once simplified.

You use the slope formula:

m = y₂-y₁ / x₂-x₁

And you plug in the points into the formula.

m = -9 - (-6) / -1 - 3

m = -9 + 6 / -1 - 3

m = -3 / -4

m = 3/4

Can you figure out the formula
puteri [66]

If "a" and "b" are two values of x-coordinate, and "m" is the midpoint between them, it means the distance from one end to the midpoint is the same as the distance from the midpoint to the other end

... a-m = m-b

When we add m+b to this equation, we get

... a+b = 2m

Solving for m gives

... m = (a+b)/2

This applies to y-coordinates as well. So ...

... The midpoint between (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is ((x1+x2)/2, (y1+y2)/2)

_____

Jennifer had (x1, y1) = (-4, 10) and (x2, y2) = (-2, 6). So her calculation would be

... midpoint = ((-4-2)/2, (10+6)/2) = (-6/2, 16/2) = (-3, 8)

Brandon had (x1, y1) = (9, -4) and (x2, y2) = (-12, 8). So his calculation would be

... midpoint = ((9-12)/2, (-4+8)/2) = (-3/2, 4/2) = (-1.5, 2)

Answer:   -129

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Given the sequence {-3, 6, -12, 24, ... }, we can see that the first term (a) is -3 and the ratio (r) is \dfrac{6}{-3} = -2.

Input those values into the Sum formula:

S_n=\dfrac{a(1-r^n)}{1-r}\\\\S_7=\dfrac{-3(1-(-2)^7)}{1-(-2)}\\\\.\quad=\dfrac{-3(1-(-128))}{1+2}\\\\.\quad=\dfrac{-3(1+128)}{3}\\\\.\quad=\dfrac{-3(129)}{3}\\\\.\quad=-129

Twenty-four students tried out for the cheerleading squad. Only 5/6 of the
IceJOKER [234]

Step-by-step explanation:

Total no. of students tried out for the cheerleading squad = 24

Only 5/6 of the students will be chosen, therefore, no.s of students will be chosen for the squad =

\frac{5}{6}  \times 24

= 5 \times 4 = 20students
