Susan Mayer's conclusion that character traits in parents like “diligence, honesty, good health, and reliability” led to increased achievement in children supports the culture of poverty. The culture of poverty is a concept popularized by the anthropologist Oscar Lewis, that suggests that poverty is the result of cultural values passed down through generations.

Oliga [24]

Based on the Political Science definition, resistance by political parties to mobilizing disengaged Americans to vote because their lack of involvement makes their allegiance to one or the other party suspect creates a "<u>Circle of Nonparticipation."</u>

This is because there are certain Americans that hardly participate in the elections. These people are often termed as nonparticipants.

Most of the time, these people only participate during federal elections or on issues closely affecting them. These people are sometimes considered uninvolved.

However, in a situation whereby the political parties resist mobilizing the disengaged Americans to vote, this action tends to reinforce their nonparticipation attitude, therefore creating a Circle of Nonparticipation among them.

Hence, in this case, it is concluded that the correct answer is "Circle of Nonparticipation."

s2008m [1.1K]

Answer: It should be raised, because the rate at which the cost of living has raised (rent, bills, inflation, etc) has not matched the slow crawl that is the federal minimum wage. States individually can have a minimum wage that is above federal, and many are working towards higher wages for hourly jobs, but the fact of the matter is many Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. There was a proposed bill several years ago by President Obama that would have raised the FMW to 10 dollars an hour, but did not pass. There have been efforts made to change it but they don't get very far.
