The main answer wold be diversity.

When you think about it, you only have a triplet code (which requires much less physical space than having all 64 possible codon combinations already present but either turned off or on). It makes much sense to have less actual physical compounds which can be combined in different ways (and a lot of ways) and produce the variety that can be required.

The similar shapes of fast swimming marine predators are an example of:__________
Sidana [21]

Answer: convergent evolution

Explanation:

The similar shapes of fast swimming marine predators are an example of convergent evolution.

Convergent evolution shows how different species possess identical structures even though they evolve separately. Convergent evolution typically takes place with the organisms that are not really related.

An example of convergent evolution is the similarity that can be noticed in the wings or the flights of bats, birds, insects, etc

Question 1
dolphi86 [110]

Answer: sexual reproduction.

Explanation: In asexual reproduction there is no exchange of genetic characteristics due to the lack of fusion of gametes(haploid). Thus there is practically no variation in specie.

But in sexual reproduction there is exchange of genetic characteristics resulting from the fusion of haploid gametes hence there is variation and great diversity.
