A math exam has 44 multiple choice questions, each with choices a to d. One student did not study and must guess on each questio

n. Normal approximation is used to estimate P(12 correct). This value will be different than the exact value computed by the binomial distribution. Find P(12 correct) by normal approximation to the binomial.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that a math exam has 44 multiple choice questions, each with choices a to d.

A student answers just by guessing. So no of questions he answers X is binomial with constant probability 1/4 = 0.25

We can find probabibility using binomial as

P(X=12) =44C12 (0.25)^{12} (0.75)^{32} \\=0.1263

If approximated to normal we have

mean = np = 11

Std dev = \sqrt{npq} \\=2.873

With continuity correction we get

P(X<12)

=P(X<11.5)

=0.5691

(Picture) MULTIPLYING MONOMIALS AND BINOMIALS
lilavasa [31]

Answer:

Second option: B and C

Step-by-step explanation:

A is the product of 4x and -2x: A=(4x)(-2x)→A=-8x^2 (x^2)

B is the product of 4x and 3: B=(4x)(3)→B=12x (x^1)

C is the product of 1 and -2x: C=(1)(-2x)→C=-2x (x^1)

D is the product of 1 and 3: D=(1)(3)→D=3 (constant)

Then, the like terms are B and C

The following system of equations is graphed below.
navik [9.2K]
One way is subsitute
I like solving

so

what you do is this
add the equaitons to gether to eliminate x

2y=x+5
3y=-x-3 +
5y=0x+2
5y=2
y=2/5

sub back

2y=x+5
2(2/5)=x+5
4/5=x+5
minus 5
4/5-25/5=x
-21/5=x

the point is (x,y) or
(-21/5,2/5)
aprox
(-4.2,0.4)
I think they wanted you to read the garph you should have attached and guess the answer
the closes one is
hmm, x=-3
and y=1

so then D is the answer

What is the slope of the line 3x- 9y=4
vlabodo [156]

Answer:

1/3 is your answer

Step-by-step explanation:

Note that in the slope intercept form, the equation looks like: y = mx + b

Isolate the y. First, subtract 3x from both sides

3x (-3x) - 9y = (-3x) + 4

-9y = -3x + 4

Next, to fully isolate the y, divide - 9 from both siedes

(-9y)/(-9) = (-3x + 4)/(-9)

y = (-3x + 4)/-9

Simplify

y = (1/3)x - 4/9

You're slope of the line (m in y = mx + b) is 1/3
