When you have a negative exponent, you move the base with the negative exponent to the other side of the fraction to make the exponent positive.

For example:

5^{-2} or \frac{5^{-2}}{1}=\frac{1}{5^2} =\frac{1}{25}

\frac{1}{x^{-4}}=\frac{x^4}{1} or  x^4

3x^{-5} or  3^1x^{-5}=\frac{3}{x^5}

9a^{-1}    Make the exponent positive

\frac{9}{a}        (this is as far as you can simplify)

Determine if the two triangles are congruent. If they are State how you know. NO LINKS!!!
miv72 [106K]

Problem 25

These triangles are congruent.

The reasoning is the AAS congruence theorem. We have two pairs of congruent angles, as shown by the arc markings, and a pair of congruent sides. The sides are <u>not</u> between the angles. That means AAS is slightly different from ASA. The order matters.

=====================================================

Problem 26

The triangles are <u>not</u> congruent

Why not? Well it all comes down to the angle placement. For the triangle on the right side, the arc is between the shared segment and the segment with the double tickmarks. The other arc is not in the proper corresponding location to be able to use SAS. It would need to be adjacent to the arc on the right for us to use SAS.

If it's hard to visualize what I mean, refer to the diagram below.

=====================================================

Problem 27

The triangles are <u>congruent</u> by <u>SAS</u>

The angles aren't marked, but recall that vertical angles are always congruent. So you could add in angle markers if you wanted, to help complete the diagram. The tickmarks of course tell us which segments are the same length. The angles are between the segments.

====================================================

Problem 28

The triangles are <u>congruent</u> by <u>SSS</u>

Like before, the tickmarks tell us which sides are the same length. So the tickmarks say that we have two pairs of congruent sides. The overlapping sides or shared sides are the third pair of congruent segments. So in reality, we have three pairs of congruent sides. It might help to break up the figure into two separate triangles.

Bonnie’s Bakery goes through 22 4/5 cups of vegetable oil in 2 weeks. If they use the same amount each week, how much do they go
bezimeni [28]

Answer:

11.4 and/or 11 2/5

Step-by-step explanation:

You can turn 22 4/5 into a decimal which is 22.8 and divide that by 2 and it gets you 11.4. You can also turn 22 4/5 into an improper fraction which is 114/5. Multiply that by 1/2 which is 11 2/5.

the product of two numbers is 7904, and the absolute value of one of the numbers is 247. Find two possible solutions for the oth
Nina [5.8K]

Two Possible solutions for the other number are -32 and 32.

<h3>What are absolute value of a number?</h3>

Absolute value describes the distance from zero that a number is on the number line, without considering direction.

Overall, To find the absolute value of a number :

Let we have any number n ( it can be positive/negative ).

so, Absolute value of 'n' will be | n | (mod of n) , means we have to take positive value of the given number.

For example: | -3 | = 3

| 4 | = 4

| -1000 | = 1000

Now, For absolute value -

For example: Absolute value of 29 is 29.

Absolute value of -56 is 56.

Absolute value of -1000 is 1000.

We have given the product of two numbers is 7904.

Let say we have number 'a' and 'b'.

so, here : a x b = 7904.        ------------ ( i )

The absolute value of one of the numbers is 247.

Let Absolute value of 'a' = 247

So the number 'a' can be either 247 or -247.

because absolute value of 247 is 247 and also absolute value of -247 is 247.

using equation ( i )

a x b = 7904

b = 7904 / a.

when a = 247

b =  32

when a = -247

b = - 32

Hence, Two Possible solutions for the other number are -32 and 32.
