The equation for this situation: y=16+5x
X is the hours Emily rented the bike
Y is the total cost
We know 46 is the total cost, so...
46=16+5x
5x=30
x=6 hours; so the answer is 6 hours

Jo is thinking of a number. Four less than 9 times the number is 176. Find Jo’s number
kondaur [170]

Answer:

Jo's Number is 20.

Step-by-step explanation:

4 - ( 9 x ? ) = 176.

9 x 20 = 180.

9 x 20 = 180, then subtract 180 by 4.

180 - 4 = 176.

Therefore, Jo's number is 20.

PIT_PIT [208]
I think we can use the identity  sin x/2  = sqrt [(1 - cos x) /2]

cos x -  sqrt3 sqrt ( 1 - cos x) /sqrt2 = 1

cos x - sqrt(3/2) sqrt(1 - cos x) = 1
sqrt(3/2)(sqrt(1 - cos x) =  cos x - 1   Squaring both sides:-
1.5 ( 1 - cos x) = cos^2 x - 2 cos x + 1

cos^2 x - 0.5 cos x - 0.5 = 0

cos x = 1 , -0.5

giving x = 0 , 2pi, 2pi/3,  4pi/3  ( for  0  =< x <= 2pi)

because of thw square roots some of these solutions may be extraneous so we should plug these into the original equations to see if they fit.

The last 2 results dont fit so the answer is  x = 0 , 2pi Answer

Consider the following argument:
mariarad [96]

Answer:

r \Rightarrow p\\ q \Rightarrow p\\ r \vee p\\ (r \vee q) \Rightarrow \neg r\\ s

Step-by-step explanation:

r \Rightarrow p \equiv (\neg r \vee p), p is false.

q \Rightarrow p \equiv (\neg q \vee p), p is false.

(r \vee q), r and q are falses.

(r \vee q) \Rightarrow \neg r \equiv (\neg (r \vee q) \vee \neg r). this sentence is true.

s
