Use the points (1, -3) and (5, 9) for the following problems.

Slope between two points is:

P1 = (1, -3) 
P2 = (5,9)

$\frac{Δy}{Δx}$  = $\frac{9 + 3}{5 - 1} = 12/4 = 3$

$\frac{Δy}{Δx}$  = $\frac{18 + 6}{-5 + 1} = 24/-4 = -6$

the slope has to be (-1,-6), and (-5, 18)  <<< What ??


y + 3 / x - 3 = 3 (Point slope form)

y + 3 = 3x - 9 

y = 3x - 12  ( Slope intercept form) 

y = mx + b << slope intercept form
