During world war II the battle of midway was carried on in the pacific near the midway atoll which at the time was crucial for the U.S. navy. The attack was a response to the U.S. attack on Tokyo, therefore the Japanese were very focused on doing as much damage as they could. However, they didn't count on the U.S. cryptographers' intelligence and how they played them in one o the most creative ways of the war. So, the U.S. navy discovered their plans and prepared an scenario in which they would make the Japanese belief they were going to have success but then would turn the table to win the most decisive naval battle of the war diminishing the Japanese army in a very powerful way that determined much of the war in a single event.
