Here, scale is 1 : 30
We have length of scale = 3 in.
So, length of the room is 30 * 3 = 90 inch.

In the same manner, width of room = 30 * 4 = 120 in.

Now, Area = Length * Width
A = 90 * 120
A = 10800 In²
A = 10800 / 144 Ft²   [ As 1 Ft² = 144 In² ]

In short, Your Answer would be  75 Ft²

Hope this helps!

Answer:

75 square feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

So all you're going to do is simply cross multiply.

1/30 = 4/x (we put x because we don't know what number goes there)

SO 1 x X = x=                  4x 30+ 120 so, x=120 in.

Now we do the same to the other one.

1/30 = 3/x

1 x x = x=                  3x 30 = 90 so, x=90 in.

Wait, we are not done yet. It also says to find the area of the room in sq ft.

We need to convert these numbers into feet. So divide 12 by the numbers.

90/ 12 = 7.5    120/12 = 10 Now, we can multiply to get the square feet.

7.5 x 10 = 75 square feet.

Why is it better to use the metric system, rather than the English system, in scientific measurement?
Dahasolnce [82]

Answer:

Because the metric system is acknowledged by all countries except for the US, therefore, to put it only in a format understood by Americans would make it harder for the larger population of the scientific community to understand. If it's in the metric system, it can easily be understood for peer review and or involvement

While mining, John found a large metal bar that contained 15 pounds of zinc. John also determined that the bar was 60% zinc. Wha
finlep [7]

Answer:

The total weight of the metal bar in pounds is 25 pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

Now, we have a metal bar which has a content of 60% zinc corresponding to 15 pounds.

Mathematically, let’s say the total weight of the metal composite is x pounds. It is 60% of this that is 15 pounds which is the content of the zinc

Mathematically;

60/100 * x = 15

60x = 15 * 100

60x = 1500

x = 1500/60

x = 25 pounds
