Curves on some test tracks and racecourses are very steeply banked. This banking, with the aid of tire friction and very stable

car configurations, allows the curves to be taken at very high speed. If the speed of the car is 46.4 m/s at which a 52.3m radius curve banked at angle theta degree(road is frictionless). What is angle theta

Answer:

\theta =76.61^0

Explanation:

given,

speed of the car = 46.4 m/s

Radius of the curve = 52.3 m

banked at an angle = θ = ?

now car is moving in the circular path

so,

computing the horizontal component and vertical component

R Sin \theta = \dfrac{mv^2}{r}...........(1)

vertical

R cos \theta = m g..................(2)

dividing equation (1) from (2)

tan \theta = \dfrac{v^2}{rg}

tan \theta = \dfrac{46.4^2}{52.3 \times 9.8}

\theta =tan^{-1}(4.2)

\theta =76.61^0

1. A mass suspended from a spring oscillates vertically with amplitude of 15 cm. At what distance from the equilibrium position
antiseptic1488 [7]

Answer:

The value of the distance is \bf{14.52~cm}.

Explanation:

The velocity of a particle(v) executing SHM is

v = \omega \sqrt{A^{2} - x^{2}}~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`~(1)

where, \omega is the angular frequency, A is the amplitude of the oscillation and x is the displacement of the particle at any instant of time.

The velocity of the particle will be maximum when the particle will cross its equilibrium position, i.e., x = 0.

The maximum velocity(\bf{v_{m}}) is

v_{m} = \omega A~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(2)

Divide equation (1) by equation(2).

\dfrac{v}{v_{m}} = \dfrac{\sqrt{A^{2} - x^{2}}}{A}~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(3)

Given, v = 0.25 v_{m} and A = 15~cm. Substitute these values in equation (3).

&& \dfrac{1}{4} = \dfrac{\sqrt{15^{2} - x^{2}}}{15}\\&or,& A = 14.52~cm

= 7.82m/s

I hope this helps!

The player that possess the best ball handling skills and usually handles

the ball often is referred to as the point guard.

Point guards in basketball are referred to as the players who have certain

characteristics such as speed ,an excellent ball handling skills and

leadership qualities.

Point guards is similar to the creative midfielder in soccer which helps to

dictate play and create chances for other team mates which is why they

handle the ball often.
