The Second World War is usually considered to have begun with the German invasion of Poland on 3 September 1939 though one can trace the sequence of events back to the German invasion of Czechoslovakia on 15 March 1939 and the British and French pledge to support Poland on 29 March. The war spread to the Pacific with the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour on 7 December 1941.

The war in Europe ended on 8 May 1945 (VE Day) when the Germans signed the official surrender that had been offered the previous day. The war in the Pacific ended with the decision on 14 August 1945 and the announcement by the Emperor of Japan in a broadcast to his people on 15 August 1945 (VP day) that Japan would accept the Allies ultimatum to surrender. The formal surrender to General Douglas MacArthur in Tokyo Bay followed on 2 September (VJ Day). I hope this is the right answer, if it's not i'm sorry

Why do you think it benefits people to have brains that are flexible? what would happen if brains were not flexible?
Sati [7]
If a human brain is not flexible, it will be a lot more limited than it already is. In another way of looking at it, you can even say that if it does not expand, it is only a box or a storage. Our brains do not only work as storage of information! We also use our brains for thinking etc. If it is rigid, when a lad hit you accidentally on the face with a paper, you may resort to violent retaliation.

Brains should be adaptable on the grounds that on the off chance that they weren't we could never have the capacity to expand our astuteness. Individuals are more adaptable mentally on the grounds that we can turn our hands to more mind boggling things and can learn better.

In 2010, candidate Debra Medina campaigned for the office of governor on a Nullification platform, claiming that the state of Te
Aleonysh [2.5K]

Answer:

Debra Medina claimed that nullification was possible by state laws that could neutralize federal laws. She based her claim on the 10th Amendment, which establishes that any power not constitutionally granted to the federal government can be held by the states.

Explanation:

The Constitution doesn´t enable the nullification of federal laws by the states, and several academics have stated that it could be illegal since the Supremacy Clause pronounces federal laws as the supreme national law. So nullification would overthrow the constitutional interpretation held for 200 years.

Let us also remember that Gov. Rick Perry, who supported nullification, had already skipped the nullification issue by starting a debate about secession. This debate is a reminder of the time when state rejection of racial integration had to be stopped by the Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka.

Why would some consider rousseau a "champion of democracy" while others as a precursor to totalitarianism (dictatorship)?
Alekssandra [29.7K]

He discussed for democracy, but not for freedom, appealing that anyone who differs with the general will should be involuntary to monitor it. He appears to be supporting something like an "absolute democracy" with complete civil equality, a factual democracy before a republic, and he openly says that political parties would weaken or disintegrate a political system founded on the general will.  A dictatorship crashes with this wholly for the reason that whoever governs the country is not governmentally equal with the rest of the individuals and can create an oppression of an individual or party.  He is disagreeing for a tyranny of the majority.
