Name 3 ways middle east countries compensate for not having water
Dmitrij [34]

A water scarcity report issued recently as a collaboration of several U.S. intelligence agencies predicts that the likelihood of conflict over water will increase in the coming decades. The report argues that the Middle East, as perhaps the most water impoverished region of the world, will be particularly susceptible to so-called “water wars.”

The strain on the global water supply is the result of a number of factors. First, most of the Earth’s water is simply unavailable for consumption, sanitation, or agricultural purposes because 97% of it is salt water. Of the remaining 3%, only 1% is available for direct human use. Moreover, in some areas of the world, the available freshwater supply is being depleted faster than it is being replenished. Saudi Arabia, for example, gets 70% of its water from 21 aquifers where water is being extracted faster than nature can restore the supply. In the case of Yemen, the state’s current water demand exceeds its renewable water resources by 900 million cubic meters per year.

As the world’s population continues to grow, the demand for water will increase correspondingly. The high population growth rates, hovering around 2% in the region compared to the world average of 1.1%, and paucity of arable land in the Middle East will make water shortages in the region particularly acute. The United Nations predicts that by 2025, 30 countries will be water scarce, out of which 18 will be in the Middle East and North Africa

Why is foreign aid being given to stable countries
wlad13 [49]

They are crucial to many economies, as they provide goods and servicesof a country and spread its literature, culture, or religion. Countries often provide aid to relieve the distress caused by man-made or natural disasters like drought, illness, and conflict.

Explanation:

Foreign aid is given to developing countries to help with emergency preparedness, disaster relief, economic development and poverty reduction. There are over 20 U.S. government agencies that manage such programs, and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) plays the lead role.

Embryonic stem cells derived from blastocysts are pluripotent, and therefore useful in stem cell research because they ________.
Elanso [62]

Answer:

The answer is: They not only serve for Regenerative Medicine, but also for the "screening" of new drugs, and some other things.

Explanation:

Currently, studies in regenerative medicine are aimed at research and knowledge of induced pluripotent cells (iPSCs). For some, they are the cells called to take over from embryonic stem cells (ESCs), which until recently were the main objective of research in this field of biomedicine.

Since the first cultures of mouse embryonic cells derived from blastocysts were obtained in 1981, the foundations were laid for the development of the necessary methodologies that would lead later to generate human embryonic cells with characteristics similar to those of the mouse.

In addition to their interest in Regenerative Medicine, these types of cells are a tool of great value for the "screening" of new drugs, as well as a model to study the etiology of diseases that originate during the embryonic stage, and to study processes that occur during human embryonic development .

The answer is: They not only serve for Regenerative Medicine, but also for the "screening" of new drugs, and some other things.
