All of them are in y=mx+b form, where m is the slope (I am pretty sure)... I can't think of what they represent though... (sorry)

A candle shop sells scented candles for $16 each and unscented candles for $10 each. The shop sells 28 candles today and makes $4
Greeley [361]
The system of equations becomes:     s  +    u  =   28  This represent the number of candles sold16s  + 10u  = 400  This represents the value of the candles sold--------------------- Now all that is left is to solve for s and u. I suggest eliminating one of the two variables. My choice would be eliminating the u terms.

Write an equation parallel to the line determined by the points (15, -6) and (-3, 13), through: (4, 2)
gulaghasi [49]

Answer:

The answer is

<h2>y = - \frac{19}{18} x + \frac{76}{2}</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

Equation of a line is y = mx + c

where

m is the slope

c is the y intercept

To find the equation of the parallel line we must first find the slope of the original line

That's

Slope of the through points

(15, -6) and (-3, 13) is

<h3>m = \frac{13 - - 6}{ - 3 - 15} = - \frac{19}{18}</h3>

Since the lines are parallel their slope are also the same

So slope of parallel line = - 19/18

Equation of the line using point (4,2) and slope -19/18 is

<h3>y - 2 = - \frac{19}{18} (x - 4) \\ y - 2 = - \frac{19}{18} x + \frac{38}{9} \\ y = - \frac{19}{18} x + \frac{38}{9} + 2</h3>

We have the final answer as

<h3>y = - \frac{19}{18} x + \frac{76}{2}</h3>

Hope this helps you

Write the number 2.4 in the form a/b using integers
iragen [17]

Answer:

2\frac{4}{10}=\frac{24}{10}=\frac{12}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

Here we have a number in the ones place, 2, and a number in the tenths place, 4.

  • Any number in front of the decimal becomes the whole number in front of the mixed number fraction
  • The numerator will be any number after the decimal
  • The denominator will be the value of the place the number after the decimal is in

Here our whole number is 2, the numerator is 4, and it is in the tenths place, so our denominator will be 10

Our fraction becomes 2\frac{4}{10} which then turns into the improper fraction \frac{24}{10} and then simplifying if needed becomes \frac{12}{5} after dividing the fraction by 2
