What is the relationship between the number of active genes and color of the skin

Biology
1 answer:
Leto [7]3 years ago
3 0

Skin color is polygenic trait meaning a lot of genes are significant in the expression of the trait. Such traits can have a multitude of variations showing continuous distribution because these non-epistatic genes have a cumulative effect on the skin color. The level of expression of these genes, majorly based on influence from the environment, will determine skin color. For example; the expression of the gene for melanin will be high in a person within the equator than in a person at the poles due to differences in sunlight exposure.

What is a major difference between facilitated diffusion and active transport?
siniylev [52]

Answer:

The correct answer is Active transport moves substances against the concentration gradient.

Explanation:

The principle difference between active transport and facilitated diffusion is that active transport helps in the movement of various substances in the uphill direction which means against the concentration gradient.

In simple words active transport helps in the movement of substance from the region of low concentration to a region of high concentration.

On the other hand during facilitated diffusion substances move along their concentration gradient which means from the high concentration region to the region of low concentration until the concentration of both sides become same.
