Hello from MrBillDoesMath!
Answer:
3
Discussion:
34 + 2x = 40 => subtract 34 from both sides
(34-34) + 2x = 40 - 34 => as (34-34) = 0 and 40-34 = 6
2x = 6 => divide both sides by 2
x = 6/2 = 3
Check the answer:
Does 34 + 2x = 40 if x = 3 ?
Does 34 + 2(3) = 40 ?
Does 34 + 6 = 40 ? YES! so the answer checks.
Thank you,

Answer:
The given table is
Hours. Earnings per hour.
0
4
8
12
Now, the unit rate is $8.25 per hour, according to the proble, this is the constant ratio of change, that means, we only need to multiply the number of hours with the unit rate.

Therefore, the complete table is

Hours. Earnings per hour.
0 0
4 33
8 66
12 99
I would think that it would be the 3:8 one because if you do the math, 8-3 is 5 and 12-5 is 7. The only reason Im doing it this way is because its the only way I can set it up.
so you have more of a difference with the 12:5 one and less of a difference with the 3:8.
I hope I helped a bit
