Question 1
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer: Question 1 answer: Skin cells continually replicate

Explanation: The cells in the superficial or upper layers of skin, known as the epidermis, are constantly replacing themselves. This process of renewal is basically exfoliation (shedding) of the epidermis. But the deeper layers of skin, called the dermis, do not go through this cellular turnover and so do not replace themselves.

Question 2 answer: Heart cells undergo terminal differentiation

Explanation: Different cell types (e.g., neurons, skeletal and heart myocytes, adipocytes, keratinocytes) undergo terminal differentiation, in which acquisition of specialized functions entails definitive withdrawal from the cell cycle.

Question 3 answer: DNA replicates in the nucleus

Explanation: DNA replication occurs in the cytoplasm of prokaryotes and in the nucleus of eukaryotes. Regardless of where DNA replication occurs, the basic process is the same. The structure of DNA lends itself easily to DNA replication.

Question 4 answer: The ability to reverse terminal differentiation might affect gene expression in a complex organism

Question 5 answer Cytoplasm replicates during mitosis

Explanation: This process involves replication of the cell's chromosomes, segregation of the copied DNA, and splitting of the parent cell's cytoplasm. ... The outcome of binary fission is two new cells that are identical to the original cell.

A 27 year old G2P1 female presents to the emergency department in labor at 41 weeks estimated gestational age. The amniotic sac
prisoha [69]

Answer:

Option D

Explanation:

When amniotic sac breaks and its internal fluid spilled then there are high chances that the fluid may enter into the throat of the infant and may block his/her air passage way. Therefore, in such situation a standard solution is formulated which requires the doctors to suction the air passageway of infant and restrict it from getting choked and contaminated with meconium. A valve mask is primarily used before suctioning

Hence, option D is correct

Local and global winds are set in motion by air moving in convection cells. Describe the motion of air in a convection cell. Be
IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

Due to the earth spherical shape, different latitudes of the planet receive varying solar energy levels from the sun. This is due to the differences in how the sun rays hit the earth surfaces and differences in the length of atmosphere the rays have to travel before they reach the earth's surface.

The equatorial regions get the most energy levels from the sun hence their atmosphere gets heated faster and the hottest. The air mass in this latitude, therefore, gets less fast dense  and begins to rise. The cooler and denser air mass from the poles rushes in, through the  lower atmosphere, to replace the void of the rising air.

When this air mass also gets heated, it too begins to rise. Remember the initial air mass cooled as it rose into the upper atmosphere. This now makes it denser than the air mas below it. As the hotter air mass begins to rise from below it pushes the cooler air mass above laterally. After the lateral movement, the air mass begins to sink slowly as it moves towards the poles because the incoming air mass gets denser than the local air mass.

The lateral movement of the convection current moving to the north is deflected to the north-west due to the Coriolis effect of the earth rotation while the lateral movement of the convection current moving south is deflected to the south-west. These pockets of convection currents are called Hadley cells.
