The steppes are mostly located in Mongolia, Siberia, china, United States of America and Tibet.  

In the South America region, the Cold steppes are found in the elevation region of the Andes and Patagonia.

There are smaller areas occupied by steppes in the northern part of the continent, in Colombia and Venezuela. The steppes are mainly used by the people for the grazing of the livestock.
