When I start removing unimportant details, I am applying the criteria of keeping it focused, making it simple and having the audience understand the visual aid. If it contains too many words, it will be difficult for the presenter to elaborate each point.
Visual aids are items of used in addition to (not replacement of) a spoken information in a visual manner; it could be a graphs, photographs, power point slides, video clips.
Few things to note when making use of visual aids is that; they must be clear, concise, of a high quality and must not contain irrelevant information; this is to ensure that it is as simple as possible and the user maintains his/her focus
