So firstly, we have to figure out what the vertex is. The best method of doing this is by converting the standard form equation to vertex form.

First step is to separate x^2-4x and 12 with parentheses: y=(x^2-4x)+12

Next, to make what's inside the parentheses a perfect square, we want to find what is half of the x coefficient and then square that. In this case, that is four. Add 4 inside of the parentheses, and add -4 outside of the parentheses: y=(x^2-4x+4)+12-4

Next, you want to factor (x^2-4x+4), which is (x-2)^2, and combine 12 and -4 together, and your vertex form is y=(x-2)^2+8

Now that we have the vertex form, we can find the vertex. To find this, if the vertex form was y=a(x-h)^2+k , then the vertex is (h,k). In this context, h = 2 and k = 8, therefore your vertex is (2,8) and the table with that vertex is the fourth table.

How much work is done lifting a 10 pound object from the ground to the top of a 40 foot building if the cable used weighs 2.5 po
katrin2010 [14]

Answer:

2,400 foot-pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

Say at any instant x is length of Rope

Work done in lifting rope by dx amount will be:

dw = -(2.5x + 10)dx

w = -(40)∫(2.5x+10)dx

w = (2.5(40)^2) / 2 + 10(40)

w = 2000 + 400

w = 2,400 foot-pounds

10k-4(k+4)=6k+3 the answer
Inessa [10]

10k-4(k+4)=6k+3

10k - 4k - 16 = 6k + 3

6k - 16 = 6k + 3

- 10 = 3

We got wrong equality, that means that there are no solution of the given equation.

vfiekz [6]
Week 24,assuming that both machines are cleaned at week 0, because multiples of 12 are 12, 24,36. And multiples of 8 are 8, 16, 24. 24 is also the LCM.
