12x4=48 so it is over 48. (1x12)+(5x4)=12+20. That is 32. It is 32/48 which simplifies down to 8/12 and then 2/3. Another way to do it is 1/4 is the same as 3/12. 3/12+5/12=8/12 which is the same as 2/3. Hope this helped.

1/4 + 5/12 = 3/12 + 5/12= 8/12 = 2/3

You must get the denominators the same so you multiply both 1 and 4 and you get 3/12. Then you add the two fractions and simplify it into 2/3

Ira Lisetskai [31]

Answer:

128

Step-by-step explanation:

Step one:

given the expression w/8 - 4 = 20

the first operation is to isolate the term that has w by adding 4 to both sides

w/8 - 4+4 = 20+4

w/8 = 16

Required

the value of w

Step two:

the next step is to cross multiply

w=16*8

w=128

Which equation represents a circle that contains the point (-5, -3) and has a center at (-2, 1)?
oksian1 [2.3K]

Answer:

(x+1)2+(y−2)2=5

Explanation:

The general form for a circle with center

(a,b) and radius r is XXX(x−a)2+(y−b)2=r2

With center (−1,2) and given that (0,0) is a solution (i.e. a point on the circle),according to the Pythagorean Theorem: XXX r 2=(−1−0)2+(2−0)2=5

and since the center is (a,b)=(−1,2)by applying the general formula we get:XXX(x+1)+(y−2)2=5

Step-by-step explanation:
