Read the excerpt from"Early Victorian Tea Set." What could be more domestic, more unremarkable, more British, than a nice cup of

tea? You could of course put the question the other way round and ask what could be less British than a cup of tea, given that tea is made from plants grown in India or China and often sweetened by sugar from the Caribbean. It is one of the ironies of British national identity – or perhaps it says everything about our national identity – that the drink which has become the worldwide caricature of Britishness has nothing indigenous about it, but is the result of centuries of global trade and a complex imperial history. What is the author’s viewpoint in this excerpt?

Answer:

The writer is of the opinion that the tea set belongs to the british history and was introduced to number of countries because this was brought across the world by their presence and they like to have tea rather than coffee. The writer also justified his saying by quoting the saying of a historian.

What can be inferred about a young mother willing to give up her children in order to continue her life of drug addiction?
GarryVolchara [31]
You can infer that the young mothers addiction had started off from an early life because maybe somebody in her family used the substance and so she got pulled into the same cycle , or she experimented and got addicted. you can also tell that she’s been doing it for a long time because she’s willing to give up her children and the chance to give them a life of their own instead of giving up the drugs that satisfy her selfish needs. ( hope this helped )
